There are four main features or components available to you during installation process which you may decide to install or not install. They are:
- Team Foundation Server feature contains all of the required component for setting up a brand new instance of TFS. You can also use it in order to add brand new application tier to already installed TFS.
- Extensions for SharePoint Products and Technologies feature is designed to allow you utilize remote SharePoint server with TFS. This component needs to be installed and configured on SharePoint Server.
- TFS Proxy feature allows you to utilize proxy server for distributed teams
- TFS Build Service feature is designed to allow your TFS server to host Team Foundation Build controller and add one or several TFS Build Agents.
If some of these components were missing from the initial installation, you can re-run setup.exe file and add additional features as needed.
